Intermediate Hardware (Similar to A+)

This module continues from the A+ Introduction to hardware and delves into the detail of the PC systems starting with the BIOS and moving on to a detailed Exercise on the system resources. The module continues with more practically based concepts such as the maintenance and upkeep of a PC and how power is supplied to the PC. The module continues with the practical outlook and introduces the learners how to handle the various PC components and how to replace them. The module ends with 3 Exercises on the specific installation of IDE devices, SCSI devices and peripherals. At the end of this module the learner will be able to install, configure and maintain most components of the PC system. The Hardware Advanced module will cover problem solving and troubleshooting in detail as well as greater detail on the critical systems of the PC such as the RAM, CPU and printers.

Primary Outcome
The learners will be prepared and have the understanding to write an accredited exam on A+ Hardware or an accredited international examination.
